Hurricane Gustav has this football weekend in Louisiana all messed up. Now I’m wondering if the LSU vs. Appalachian State game will be canceled or played this weekend? Here’s what I found on it:
LSU’s game against Appalachian State on Saturday is still slated to kickoff at 4 p.m. Central time. Although there has been no change in the scheduled start time for LSU’s football season opener sports event on Saturday, no football-related activities will be held in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on that day as the facility is being prepared for use as a medical special needs shelter associated with the anticipated impact of Tropical Storm Gustav.
How will this storm effect the score of the game, if it is played? Will anyone even show up?

Just how is it made? I was wondering what goes into making perfume. How do they make it smell a certain way? What makes it the worst, or the best perfume? Here’s a little bit that I found on perfume:
Perfume comes from the Latin “per” meaning “through” and “fumum,” or “smoke.” Many ancient perfumes were made by extracting natural oils from plants through pressing and steaming. The oil was then burned to scent the air. Today, most perfume is used to scent bar soaps. Some products are even perfumed with industrial odorants to mask unpleasant smells or to appear “unscented.”
Natural ingredients—flowers, grasses, spices, fruit, wood, roots, resins, balsams, leaves, gums, and animal secretions—as well as resources like alcohol, petrochemicals, coal, and coal tars are used in the manufacture of perfumes. Some plants, such as lily of the valley, do not produce oils naturally. In fact, only about 2,000 of the 250,000 known flowering plant species contain these essential oils. Therefore, synthetic chemicals must be used to re-create the smells of non-oily substances. Synthetics also create original scents not found in nature.
Once the oils have been extracted from the ingredients, they are blended together. Once blended, they are mixed with alcohol. The ratio of alcohol to oils varies depending on if a full perfume is being made or if a variation, such as a cologne or toilet water, is being made. Most full perfumes are made of 10-20 percent oil whereas toilet water only has two percent oil.

I really don’t get this generation at all. I’m feeling like an old man here, but I’m telling ya that I feel like I’m out of touch completely.
My daughter was trying to show me a YouTube clip the other day. The said that it was the funniest thing ever. It was some clip making fun of the Miley Cyrus pictures on MySpace. Well, while she was laughing her butt off, I was just shaking my head. Where was the humor? I don’t get it. Then she showed me this Jonas Brothers vieo and explained how cool they are. Cool? How are these little idiots cool?
Then my boys were telling me about a new video game they want. When I asked how much it costs for the Wii game, they tell me that it’s only $80. Only $80? Are you kidding me? When I was a kid I had to mow 10 yeards to make that much. Now these kids are in bad debt before they get out of high school, and they could care less about saving anything!
Has this new generation left me behind? Am I lost or something??

I’ve been searching around for funny websites today. I found some that cracked me up. The best one was just a simple blog post about weird sites that his employees got busted surfing while at work. For some reason that was just hilarious (see weird sites).
Then I found a bunch of videos that were really funny. I think i could spend hours watching YouTube videos. My favorite ones were: shoes, charlie the unicorn, and sneezing panda. Of course the funniest video ever to me is the dramatic chipmunk.

Do any of you know if it’s possible to crack the new iPhone? I’m really curious. I’ve heard that you can crack the original iPhone, but I don’t know about the new one. I read an article at a forum called How To Crack iPhone 3G and it teased me, but it doesn’t really give any specifics. I guess there must be some program somewhere about cracking the phone, but I can’t find it. I love the iPhone 3g, but I need to find a crack for this pretty badly!

Who is this Walter Gropius that Google is trying to send everyone to today? If you haven’t seen the Google logo tofay about hum, go to the Google home page. You see that funny looking logo they have? If you click it it takes you to a search for Walter Gropius. I found out a lot about him here.
Basically the man is called the father of modern architecture. He designed a bunch of buildings in the 1930’s that were cool looking. Gropius also started a design school, and he taught architecture at some fancy colleges like Harvard. He was born in Germany, but he ran away from Hitler and the Nazis to move to the United States.
Walter Gropius is sort of cool, but why did Google think they had to make a logo for him? It would be his 125th birthday, but so what??

Did you hear the story about the Mexicans in New Hampshire that were busted by the cops for being illegal aliens? They were caught, placed in jail, and then the judge just let them go. The court basically said that the feds decide immigration, but the feds don’t do anything about all the illegals from mexico! Read this for for info:

I’ve been playing around with the stock market lately. I found two sites that have helped me a bit. I know nothing about financial planning, so I need everything I can find. A great article was best stocks to pick in 2008. The other cool one had a lot of stock information.
I have also been trying to lose some weight with a diet. I hate trying to lose weight, but I need to really badly. Some good advice on dieting was found about Dr. Suzanne Top Ten Fat Loss Secrets. I also found some good dieting info at ediets. Wish me luck in losing weight! I need it.
